Finally figured out my breathing

17 hours ago 5

I've had trouble with breathing as long as I can remember. This has caused me a great deal of anxiety and hindered my concentration a lot. I have tried many breathing exercises and non of them have worked. I always felt like I couldn't get enough air especially through my nose.

Finally today I just decided to lay down eyes closed, mouth closed and tongue at the roof of my mouth and I just tried my hardest not to consciously control my breathing. For like a minute I felt like I was running out of air and felt like I might suffocate but then my breathing started to naturally adjust. What transpired was one of the most euphoric experiences of my life.

I felt few hiccup type sensations on my stomach as my breathing adjusted and my lungs let out one big exhale and one big inhale. During this my eye lids where twitching and my whole body was tingling. It felt like every anxiety or any stress I had was physically leaving my body. After that my breathing remained calm and I finally had a moment where I didn't have any anxious thought on my mind.

I've been just laying on my bed breathing for like an hour and I genuinely feel like life has been changed. I've been breathing manually almost every waking hour of my life for so long that I had totally forgot what its like not doing that.

Just wanted to share this experience somewhere in hopes of helping someone else who might be struggling with these problems.
