Not new to south florida, but this is the first apartment complex that seems to expect me to paint the walls and fill any holes from photo frames. It was my understanding that what can be considered for security deposit use is damage to the property past "normal use" expected by simply living in it.
Anyone have any insight on that? Was already planning on deep cleaning the place and leaving it in good condition, but to be expected to paint over any and all scuffs? Pshhh
Hello xxxxxx,
Before you move out of xxxxxx, please consult this checklist and make sure that everything is taken care of. Your apartment should be in the condition that it was in when you first moved in. Please note that anything that hasn't been taken care of will result in additional fees.
- Restore walls to their previous conditions. Remove nails and hooks, and fill holes. If there are marks, make sure everything has a new coat of paint.
- Make sure that the bathroom is clean and spot-free.
- Clean out the refrigerator as thoroughly as possible. Remove the drawers if necessary to reach everywhere.
- Dust, vacuum and mop after furniture has been removed.
- Leave your keys in the location specified by your landlord.
- Turn off all lights before leaving the apartment for the final time.
We're sad to see you go, but we wish you the best in your new place!
Best Regards,
The Leasing Team at xxxxx
