FPL is refusing to fix our proven electrical issue. Anyone go through this side quest before?

1 day ago 4

We bought a new home 2 months ago (wanted to leave downtown condo life) and shortly after move in we started experiencing an issue with multiple of our lights/appliances.

I had the electrician who built the house come over, and he went over everything. He couldn’t find an issue internally, so they suggested I call FPL to see if the problem was before the meter.

I called FPL, and a technician arrived with a testing device for my meter. He discovered that my voltage was uneven going into my home, and was confident this was causing the problem.

**This isn’t visible virtually to FPL, only with this testing device onsite.

They said they would send a team out to fix it, and leave a door hanger with info if I wasn’t home when they fixed it. I work from home, and for two weeks I never witnessed anyone.

I eventually called again, and FPL said they fixed it, but I said there was no confirmation of this, and that we still have the same issues in our home that are seemingly caused by this uneven voltage.

The same tech comes out again, tests at our meter with the same tool, and sees that we still have the same issue of uneven voltage.

The next day a team comes out and does more stuff at the transformer, then the tech tells me they can come back later to test the meter if I still have the same issue.

Of course, their “fix” did not fix the issue, so I call again, and they are now refusing to send someone back to see if my voltage is still uneven, or test anything going into my home.

I have zero documentation of any of this other than ticket numbers because FPL does not provide anything (they also seemingly don’t take internal notes whatsoever).

This was an insane conversation to have….they will not test to see if their “fix” solved the problem after the tech said they would??? And I can’t have an electrician remove my meter and use that tool that they have!

They’re telling me that the issue is inside the house, but they’re also admitting to not have tested my meter after the latest fix, so the electrician does not want to test anything internally before FPL tests externally (which makes sense, because we already tested everything inside).

Wtf do I do? I am reporting them to the state, but we need this fixed ASAP.
