Help with unfiled taxes, where do I start?

So I’ll admit it, I’ve got a couple years of unfiled taxes sitting on me and it’s been stressing me out big time. Every time I think about catching up I just get overwhelmed and push it off again. Now I feel like the hole is too deep and I don’t even know where to start. Like do you file the oldest year first or just start with the current one? I keep hearing horror stories about penalties stacking up and the IRS sending scary letters but I don’t wanna keep ignoring it either. Has anyone else had unfiled taxes and managed to dig themselves out of it? Did you do it on your own or did you have to get someone to help? I’m just trying to figure out what’s the smartest first step so I can stop carrying this stress around every day.
