Hurricane shutter removal

11 hours ago 2

I live in a condo that is doing maintenance on the porch balcony. In order to that, they are requiring all hurricane shutters to be removed and are saying they can't remove them and their construction crew wont remove them. They said we either have to hire a handyman or contract the vendor that installed them. We bought the condo last year and the shutters were already there. We don't know who installed them. Every shutter vendor we've contacted is refusing to remove them without purchasing new shutters through them.

The hurricane shutters are inside, but against, the screening and railings, so not against the doors, protecting the porch itself. If that makes sense for the visual.

They are accordian- style shutters, 2 of them. 1 is 12x8, the other is 7x8.

Can anyone remove these? They look to be bolted down into the balcony. We aren't looking to replace them, just remove them. We may reinstall at a later date with roll down style, once we figure out what other residents are doing. Our unit is literally the only one with shutters still in place and they aren't required. We are on the 2nd floor with no trees no buildings, nothing, facing our balcony except a huge lake.
