Is there a reason why I’m unable to find human babies cute?

2 weeks ago 26

Human babies never really triggered a cute response in me. Growing up I thought people only pretended babies were cute so they’d have some sort of motivation to take care of them. But no, they’re designed to make us want to nurture them. Why am I not one of the mass baby followers who thinks they’re oh so adorable? Everything about them screams uncanny valley…they look like shrunken old men. Their movements are so wonky. They’re prone to projectile shitting and vomiting at any given second. Their screams…seriously where does all that noise come from? The way their eyes dart around creeps me out. Not to mention how painful and dangerous childbirth is. I don’t hate babies, I hope they have good childhoods. But I genuinely do not understand how someone can look at one and go “awww”. This is coming from a guy who thinks insects, snakes, and certain microbes are cute by the way.
