Miami, Fort Lauderdale airports won’t play new Kristi Noem video blaming Democrats for government shutdown

STATEMENT FROM MIA

“At Miami International Airport, we deeply value and support our TSA partners and the vital role they play in ensuring the safety of our passengers every day. To be consistent with Miami-Dade County policy regarding messaging within the MIA terminal, MIA will continue playing TSA’s existing Real ID awareness video, which provides passengers with important, time-sensitive information directly related to their travel experience and federal requirements. We remain fully supportive of TSA’s mission and continue to collaborate closely with them in serving our shared customers.”

STATEMENT FROM FLL

“The TSA video in question is not playing at the Fort Lauderdale-Hollywood International Airport (FLL) as our advertising policy does not permit political messaging to be displayed in our facility.”

"It is TSA's top priority to ensure that travelers have the most pleasant, efficient, and safe air travel security experience possible. It is a simple statement of fact that Democrats in Congress refuse to fund the federal government, and because of this, most of our TSA employees are working without pay. It’s unfortunate our workforce has been put in this position due to political gamesmanship. Our hope is that Democrats will soon recognize the importance of opening the government," she said.
