paying for SO MANY channels / services

1 month ago 34

I will list them below. We are in NYC. We pay almost $200/month. We have 4 TVs.

My family members want access to local live channels and need to watch English premier soccer, NFL (all eagles and jets games), NBA (all knicks games) and baseball (all Mets games).

I, personally, would be happy with just Amazon prime. If there was a show or movie I wanted to watch on another service, I would sign up for it and then cancel when I finished watching.

Given this info, can anyone recommend changes I can make to save money without getting my family mad at me?

We currently have:

· DirecTV. This is about $80/month for most live channels. I'd like to cancel it, but we apparently have a legacy rate from an ATT promotion years ago, so I'm afraid to lose it. This is an app - we don't actually have a dish.

· Spectrum TV. This is the lowest tier, about $10/month with internet. I just signed up for this. I had hoped it could replace DirectTV. It has things like CNN, NY1, MSNBC but doesn’t seem to have local live channels like ABC, CBS, regular NBC.

· Hotwire / Fision TV. This is a shared log in with my parents in Florida. It gives us access to USA network, but a lot of other channels (e.g. CBS, NBA) don’t recognize it as a TV provider.

· amazon prime

· paramount through amazon, which I think includes CBS

· Max/HBO through Amazon

· AppleTV

· Hulu / Disney

· Peacock

· Netflix

· Sports things: NFL+ ($100 for the season), MLB, MSG

Thank you for any advice!
