My daughter landed an amazing internship opportunity in wpb this summer for 10 weeks. She is only 21, and will be far away all by herself. SAFETY is our #1 concern, but hers is whether there is a beach nearby. She isn’t much of a partier, but loves to work out and walk a lot in the evenings, and she enjoys hang out by the river in her college town. She will have a company car to drive during her residency, so getting around isn’t a concern. The company she is interning for lets the interns select housing and gives them a budget. We have yet to get the finalized budget (hoping by tomorrow we get an official number). Assuming it’s no less than $150 a night (lord forbid) we are looking at two locations. One place is the City Place neighborhood with condos/ apartments since it’s kinda lively. We are also considering The Phoenix condos in Palm Beach Shores area. I’m including a screenshot of the area because idk if this area is actually referred to as that or if it’s just Riveria Beach? So here are my questions for all you fantastically opinionated wpb people…
- What are your thoughts on Palm Beach Shores? know to stay away from Riveria Beach, but is that referring to the town itself or the actual beach? If so, I guess The Phoenix condos are out. The appeal of this area is the condo directly on the beach. But if it’s not safe for her to walk around the beach at night we aren’t interested.
-what is the commute like from Palm Beach Shores to wpb? We live in Houston, so traffic is a common occurrence for us here. Just curious what the times are like. I’m finding it’s about 20-30 minutes during rush hour.
-City Place- I keep hearing about Clematis street as a hotspot for crackheads. Is City Place a safer area to stay?
Any other suggestions for locations would be greatly appreciated. I know about So-so and the Flamingo neighborhoods (thank you wpb Reddit) but as far as renting an apartment or condo that isn’t in someone backyard, there aren’t any choices.
