Updated Fort Lauderdale Unemployment Figures | released July 02, 2025

Official unemployment figures for the Fort Lauderdale economy were updated today. Numbers for April have been finalized and preliminary figures for May have now been made available.

April

The unemployment rate fell to 3.2% in April. 1,038 positions were added, with only 827 workers entering the labor force causing the unemployment rate decrease. The overall Nonfarm Payrolls figure did not change significantly. No individual sector saw significant employment changes.

May (preliminary)

The unemployment rate increased to 3.3% in May. 701 positions were lost, and 275 workers left the labor force causing the unemployment rate increase. The overall Nonfarm Payrolls figure did not change significantly. No individual sector saw significant employment changes.
