I was listening to this piece and I turned to my wife and said to her: this is a weird piece. Why is Scott Singer confessing to instead of trying to build an economy, they just want to bring "executives"/wealthy people to town. That is not building. That's tourism.
Why are you trying to lure people that can easily pick up and leave where they are to come somewhere and leave it in a few years when they realize that there is not a lot of activity around here.
I've lived here for 3 years. I am a tech exec and I work remote. There are not a lot of opportunities for people around here Scott. If I want to find a job, I have to move to the coasts or get a remote job. This is a good area of the country to be a personal injury lawyer, not to work in tech.
Like I said to the african american kid working at the CVS after he let me know he is finishing his engineering degree: there are very few opportunities around here...get out.
