What is the use getting rid of the satellite TV box in the first place?

1 day ago 1

The reason I ask is because what is the use of getting rid of the satellite TV box and substituting it with YouTube TV since they are the only other option that I have that offers everything that I want to watch, which are normal TV channels like TLC, HGTV, animal planet, A&E, history Channel, etc., the news channels like CNN and MSNOW, and the sports networks such as FS1, ESPN, TBS, USA, TNT, TruTV, etc., and after adding up the total cost of home internet and the full package, (none of the genre packs) it exceeds what I pay for my satellite TV bill each month. Everywhere I look for an alternative, people tell me to use YouTube TV, but I keep telling them that it's too expensive and show them why and they just stop talking to me. Also, for some reason, people these days don't seem to be interested in the variety of TV content tha we used to watch on satellite and cable TV anymore, and only seem to be interested in premium TV channels, such as HBO, Showtime, Disney Plus, etc., and I wonder, why is that? Does cord cutting actually save us money, is it just a scam, or am I missing something? I'd like to know more. Thanks.
