When your mind feels too busy to meditate, what is your favorite meditation technique?

My head feels like a packed train station sometimes when I sit down to meditate; I can't seem to calm down and my thoughts are all over the place. I've experimented with body scans, walking meditation, and breath counting. It doesn't always work. What type of meditation or method helps you calm your mind when it's particularly agitated? (Methods, little routines, attitudes, anything!)
