Where are people in Broward looking for trade apprenticeships/work these days?

2 weeks ago 17

Hey everyone,

I’m reaching out because I’m trying to help my dad find a solid helper for his flooring business in Broward, but I’m having a tough time figuring out where the younger crowd looks for work now.

My dad is a commercial vinyl contractor with 25+ years of experience (roll goods, plank, tile, etc.). I actually worked for him for 7 years before moving and starting my own flooring company in Idaho, so I know for a fact that if you learn this trade from him, you can easily be making six figures within 10 years.

He’s looking for someone in their 20s or 30s who is actually serious about a career—someone reliable with their own car. He’s starting people at $700/week with no experience needed since he’ll train them from the ground up, but he’s had a hard time finding people who aren't dealing with personal issues or "no-shows."

Is Nextdoor still the move for this, or are there local boards or groups I should be checking? I want to make sure this opportunity goes to someone who actually wants to grow into their own contractor one day.

Appreciate any leads or advice on where to post this!
