Why is it so hard to get ocean views in FTL?

I moved here from Miami and although i like the vibe of the city over Miami's, I find it incredibly difficult to get water views here vs. in Miami.

In Miami, you can be in multiple multiple different neighborhoods and see the ocean at the distance. I have been in FTL for about a year (about 2 miles from Las Olas) and I could go an entire month and not see the ocean anywhere. Sometimes I feel like I am living in Orlando with South Florida prices.

Maybe I am doing it wrong. I dont always wanna hang out on the sand on the beach but it'd be nice to see the ocean on the horizon as I go about other everyday tasks.
