Cannaboid Hyperemesis syndrome

Hey ! Sharing my experience with awareness of CHS

26m , started chronic usage in 2017 To preface, i had no idea such a syndrome was a thing. My doctor during one of a few ER visits over the ordeal mentioned in passing that there’s something that comes up with weed smokers more often (as if it’s a new thing i guess?) and maybe to me she said it in passing because i have heard the “stop smoking weed” all before and i dismissed it.

Dentist visit for a cavity gave me an amoxicillin RX which i blamed my entire month off work and vomiting up bile daily and maybe eaten morsels of food a total of 1.5-3 days out of the month. I assumed it killed my gut microbiome which i attributed to the “anxiety “ feeling In my chest within 10 minutes of waking. I’d wake up think “i might feel better today” then that stomach twist turns up. It was miserable every time and i was thinking i also had too much caffeine . Only problem with the amoxicillin theory is that it was literally just one pill.

Eventually it was a solid month and a straggler day or two of feeling that way before it stopped but it happens the SAME month a year later, i also thought it was an energy drink as well, this time lasted for 2.5 weeks, had no money because i missed so much work and sick time had ran dry after the first 2 days

Doctors found nothing, only thing that helped was ER IV drip Zofran.

Forgot what made this condition pop up in my head again today, probably a conversation, but it all clicked when the cyclical aspect and the duration aspects of this syndrome after finally paying attention to what it entails, and i thought I’d ask this subreddit for any similar experiences ? So far these episodes have not come back. I have not ceased to smoke one bit and indont plan to. So far it’s a year and some change late if it was a yearly thing like it was almost proving to be.

For me it felt like a stomach virus that lasted really long, I would not stop tossing and turning awake in bed all day . I felt really bad. BRAT diet did NOT work for me . But gummy bears kinda did
