my mom was born in the early 1950s and owns a freezer that was purchased in the mid 1970s. the bottom two shelves are filled with various kinds of meat that have been there for a number of years. she says it’s in case of an emergency, and no one is allowed to eat it, though it probably wouldn’t be safe to do so anyway. last year the power went out for about two days and the contents of the freezer were completely thawed, but instead of throwing out the old meat, she just refroze it. does anyone else know someone like this, or is my mom just weird?
