DAE have an uncanny ability to tell when they are getting sick before symptoms because of a “smell” or “taste” in the nasopharyngeal area?

I can usually tell if I am getting sick because maybe swallowing feels a little different, but that can also be caused by allergies or acid reflux for me. The confirmation is the “sick” taste/smell I feel in the back of my throat, where my throat and nasal passages meet.

I can taste or smell it - sorta both. The other clue is mucus that becomes “tacky”. This happens for me before I have noticeable symptoms.

Lastly, if I am especially sneezy or have stuffy/runny nose, I can often tell if it’s sickness or allergies by running my tongue along the roof of my mouth. In both cases, it feels a little tickly, but if it’s allergies the sensation is very uncomfortable and sometimes makes me sneeze in and of itself.
