Hey everyone — hope this is okay to share here. I noticed most big cities on Reddit have a dedicated politics sub (like r/ChicagoPolitics or r/NYCPolitics), but oddly, Miami didn’t… so I made one: r/MiamiPolitics
This isn’t meant to replace r/Miami — I really appreciate that this sub covers everything from restaurant openings to hurricane prep to skyline photos. That’s exactly why I thought a separate space just for local news, elections, policy debates, and civic discussion might be a good complement.
If you care about stuff like:
- Housing, transit, and flooding
- Local corruption, city budgets, or county elections
- How national politics and federal policy decisions affect life in Miami-Dade
- Immigration policy or civil rights in Miami-Dade
- Organizing and community action
Then come join the conversation. My goal is for it to be level-headed, respectful, and genuinely useful—no spam, just what matters here and how it connects to the bigger picture.
Mods, if this isn’t allowed, I understand—just thought this could be a valuable resource for folks who want to dive deeper into local issues without overwhelming the main thread.
Thanks for reading!
