Other than the motivation to actually play more...
Jokes aside, this bass is the only one I've ever owned, and really ever played other than a short stint with an ESP starter kit. I don't gig, or play with others, just noodle on my own and learn songs (or as of recently, just look at it looking pretty on the wall). I don't know what it means to dial in a tone past tapping through presets on my multiFX pedal.
With that said, I want to encourage myself to start playing more, and I was going to start with getting this sucker a proper set up and new set of strings. And then I was wondering if a little GAS would help me out, getting a 5 string or a short scale or a u-bass. Something that might add a little fun to this very casual hobby.
And that made me wonder, what am I missing by playing this Fender instead of a Yamaha, Ibanez, or J-Bass instead of the precision I have? Planning a trip to guitar center to just get a feel for what's out there and see if something strikes me, but curious for any insight here from some experienced people that I know have played more than one bass :)
