Let’s talk about Publix Chicken

We need to have a conversation. Let me begin by saying I’m not a local. I just live here. I’m not a native Floridian that grew up standing on the Publix scale or whatever it is that yall do. I got stationed in Florida 10 years ago and never left. That being said, I have no affinity to Publix chicken. When I’m hungry for chicken and don’t want to put much thought into what to get I usually get Publix.

The chicken is ok. I put it in the same tier as Raising Canes where the sauce makes the chicken. When you really think about it, Publix chicken isn’t flavorful. It’s not bad, but it’s not amazing. It’s above gas station chicken for sure and Pollo Tropical, although PT def brines their chicken so at least there’s flavor.

We can get into Pollo Tropical at a later date👎🏼👎🏼

I think the fact that Publix chicken is near the top of a few “lists” for top wings in the miami area says a lot about the palette of the people that live here. Like I said before it’s not bad, and it’s not amazing. It’s kind of like the Tofu of chicken how it takes on the flavoring of the sauce you toss it in. It’s great for subs with lots of sauce, and the popcorn version is wonderful to dip in a variety of sauces as well.

TL:DR - Publix chicken is good but not all that.
