In case you missed it: The National Guard is being mobilized across 19 states (Florida included) as part of an immigration and crime “crackdown.” Troops are expected to assist ICE operations and support state efforts, with Texas getting the biggest deployment. But make no mistake, this is part of a broader authoritarian shift that will reach all of us.

Some in Miami are cheering this administration on, thinking they’re safe, that it only affects “others.” But that’s how this always begins... until it doesn’t. If you're from here, if you know Miami’s history, you know better than to celebrate state power with no accountability.
