Thank you to the person who recommended stopping the dryer halfway thru to add a new load clothes

A while ago I stumbled across someone posting about how at the laundromat, they will stop a dryer cycle halfway thru to remove their dry clothes and add a new load of wet clothes. Essentially getting to dry 2 loads of clothes for the price of 1 dry cycle.

My apartment’s laundry rooms have increased in price a couple times recently and with the dryer cycle being an hour long, it’s plenty of time to dry 2 loads of clothes.

I gave it a try a month or so ago. Loaded the dryer with one batch of clothes to dry, stopped it 30 mins in to take them out and then added the next batch and resumed the cycle.

30 mins on high heat is plenty of time to dry almost all of my clothes. The one or two things that were slightly damp I just let finish drying in my apartment. And so far I’ve saved around $15 in my laundry costs. It’s not much and it’s such a small thing, but it helps. I’m done with laundry faster and I don’t feel like I’m wasting money, energy or 30 mins with my already dry clothes continuing to dry in the same cycle.
