Hey Miami,
I moved here from Michigan to start fresh. When I first got here, I was homeless — but I found work as a dishwasher and eventually got a place to stay. In May, my homie moved down here too — a seriously talented rapper, someone I believe in 100%.
Recently, our landlord kicked everyone out to rent the home to a family, and we ended up homeless again. The good news is we’re both working now, but the bad news is I can’t access any of my money.
Here’s the problem:
My old bank account was closed after it stayed negative for too long.
I have 2 paychecks on me right now that I can’t cash anywhere without a valid ID.
I’ve ordered a new ID, but it’ll take 2–4 weeks to arrive.
Until then, I can’t open a new bank account, cash these checks, or access any of my earnings.
Right now, I’m broke, homeless, and just trying to get by day to day — even finding somewhere to shower is a challenge. I’m doing my best to keep working and pushing forward, but this situation has me stuck.
We’re looking for:
Housing leads — even short-term so we can get cleaned up and back on track.
Advice or resources for cashing checks without a bank account or ID in Miami.
***Music industry connections — DJs, producers, venue owners, promoters, engineers. My friend is DIY, does some of his own production, and prefers not to go through producers unless necessary. I’ve told him about places like Bay 8 Studios (who’ve worked with big names), but he’s more into building from scratch. I respect that, but I also think the right connections could really open doors for him. I can send some material for anyone to check out, to see what I'm talking about.
***Startup/business connections — I have a business concept I believe in fully. I’m not a businessman and have no prior experience, but I’m willing to learn and work hard to make it happen. I’m keeping the details completely private for protection, but I’m open to talking under NDA with:
Potential investors
Experienced people in the industries involved who may want to work with me once it’s set up
Mentors who can help guide me from concept to launch
We’re not here asking for handouts — just opportunities, guidance, and a shot at getting out of this hole.
Thanks for reading, Miami. Any advice, resources, or connections would mean more than you know.
