Been living in Bali, running my agency with contractors everywhere. One of my devs in Brazil wants to move to Portugal for the D7 visa lifestyle but needs employment proof.
Deel just emailed saying they can sponsor work visas through their Portuguese entity. My dev would technically be employed by Deel Portugal while I pay Deel.
Sounds too good to be true?
The D7 usually needs you to show passive income or remote work contract. But with Deel as official employer, he'd have a Portuguese work contract which is way stronger for residency.
Anyone done this? Not talking about EU citizens (they don't need it), but actual visa sponsorship for non-EU nomads.
My concern: if Deel is his employer on paper, what happens if I stop using Deel later? Does he lose his visa status?
Would love to hear from anyone who's used Deel or Remote for actual visa sponsorship, not just payroll.
