Sorry guys, but I have something to get off my chest. What's been going on here lately? The same questions are being asked every day (sometimes multiple times). Questions that have mostly already been covered in the FAQ or countless threads.
What's so difficult about doing your own research or using the search function before asking a question? I find this laziness almost outrageous. In the days of online forums, it was even forbidden to create threads on topics that already existed. These posts were deleted by moderators and repeated violations were punished with bans.
On top of that, the questions are becoming increasingly offbeat, sometimes almost seeming like satire. Is it a generational thing that makes me wonder why people are asking things here that people used to simply do or try out? How did previous generations manage to survive without the internet?
Not to be misunderstood: It's perfectly legitimate to ask questions, and if I can help, I'm happy to. Everyone was at the beginning somewhere. But a little (including intellectual) personal effort isn't too much to ask.
Or is it just me? Am I old and grumpy?
