who else is growing food in their backyard?

1 month ago 42

Just curious—anyone else out here in Miami growing their own food? I’ve been rebuilding a food forest in my backyard, and it's starting to take shape: bananas, mangoes, sweet potatoes, pigeon peas, passionfruit, and a bunch of pollinator-friendly plants.

I used to have a thriving food forest before life flipped the script. But now I’m back at it, and this time I’m growing with intention, resilience, and community in mind.

Would love to connect with others doing the same—whether you’re in Little Havana with grow bags on a balcony or out in Homestead with a full plot, let’s share tips, cuttings, ideas, or even link up.

Drop a pic of what you’re growing or just tell me what’s working (or not) for you. Let’s bring some local food power back to the 305.
